Why Do We Train

Training at the Strength Lab has all evolved into a simple way to program exercise and fitness into a variety of different goals all based on the premise that everyone will have different goal sets, different mindsets, but that there's a life time level of achievement out there and constant improvements that can be made for everyone.  That's why all of our programs are goal oriented around everyone's goals, however the end state is often the same for everyone.

Training with us here at the Strength Lab means that you have certain goals that you're looking to reach, whether it's losing 30lbs of unwanted fat, getting strong enough to lift up a house, or just want to look good and feel good as you age.  All those goals fit into our training environment.

Over the years as CPT SMASH has learned through his own experience and training hundreds of people from various walks of life, from the occasional Olympic quality athlete to the 80 year old stroke victim, everyone is after a certain type of goal at one point only to finally end up wanting to live a longer better quality of life.

With this in mind we view training with these three important aspects training provides everyone.

Training keeps us young.

Training hard allows us to tackle the daily hustle and bustle of life easily, we feel younger and therefore we are younger.  Whether your climbing stairs up to your desk job or running a 5K in the morning because you can, we know that training will take years off your life and will help you look and feel younger.

When you train hard, you feel good.  And that's what we want.  We want you walking out of the Strength Lab feeling like, "yeah, I worked hard today, but I feel absolutely fantastic, and I'm ready to tackle the rest of what life has to offer."

Training Builds Our Engine

Training allows us to lose fat and keep it off by building a bigger capacity engine that uses more fuel.  Weight training helps stimulate our metabolisms and helps us burn off that extra fat we carry around and build muscle tissue that we end up losing as we age.

We're basically making a bigger, stronger engine with more horsepower for us to move faster, longer and harder.  The bigger the engine, the more fuel we can put in it and stay leaner forever.

The Most Important Piece to Training?

Training allows us to keep doing the things we love to do!  Whether you like to hike, bike, rock climb, swing, run, whatever other activities your into, training allows us to do those things easier and better than before.

Just like any smart athlete training may not be fun as you're going through it, but it pays big dividends when you're playing a pickup game of hockey, basketball or trying to carry all twenty of the grocery bags into the house in one shot.

Training makes life easier and keeps us fit and able to better handle the stressors of daily life with ease.  We have a certain mental toughness that we get through training that makes everything else seem easier in comparison.  So regardless of what life throws at you, you're going to be ready!
