Hey Everyone...I'm Captain SMASH, owner and operator of SMASH's Strength Lab in Ottawa, ON.
We are a small personal training studio dedicated to helping women (and men) become confident in their lives through strength training, conditioning and helping them live fantastic lives and love their bodies.
We help people get into the best shape of their lives so they can continue doing the things they love to do, only better.
We focus on mobility and movement as our foundation. And prioritize getting a little better each and every day.
We always train to win. And we train hard (or as hard as we can).
We strengthen and condition our bodies to perform at their best, so that when they're put the test, we can be assured that we'll do our best.
Our nutritional guidelines are simple and focused toward the individual to help develop an ideal nutritional program for everyone that fits their own needs.
In our hybrid system of training, we rely on a variety of exercise modalities including barbells, kettlebells, sleds, chains, ropes and even bodyweight resistance to get to our goals quickly, and then moving on to the next challenge.
Our training process is also systemized for variety to not only accommodate injuries and/or individual differences, but also work with it to both keep your training interesting, keep you getting stronger and fitter over time, but to also have fun.
We offer both private and semi-private personal training Monday thru Saturday.
So regardless of your fitness experience, age, or gender we have a solution to help you get more energy, boost your confidence, feel younger, get stronger, increase you mobility, look fantastic and love the body your in!

Jesse “Captain Smash” Howland is the owner of SMASH’s Strength Lab, which offers targeted personal training to reach a variety of fitness and physique goals. A natural bodybuilder, competitive powerlifter, certified personal trainer, and nutrition coach, Jesse is often the go-to resource for personal training Ottawa. He studied Exercise Science at Oregon State University and even trained at the world famous Gold’s Gym. He’s a former US Army Captain with the 86th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, a former blog writer at Veterans Fitness Career College, and former Chief Executive Officer at U.S. Army Forces Command (FORSCOM). His workouts and personal training are army-inspired to help reach your weightloss, athletic, or physique goals.
