The 12 Days of Christmas - Tips for the Holidays: Part 6

This quick segment of CPT SMASH's holiday special focuses on fat intake.  You want to make sure that you're intaking enough healthy fats during the course of your day along with your protein intake to help out with keeping yourself fueled and ready to go.

Eat a good portion of healthy fats along with your protein at each meal to keep yourself fueled up and ready to tackle those heavy weights.  Think avocado, olive oil, coconut oil, fatty fish or fish capsules, algae, nuts and seeds.

These will keep you from overdoing it on carbohydrates in the morning hours and then you can splurge later on.

The key object is to avoid carbohydrates during these morning hours so that you can have some tasty treats in the evening time frame, because we know it's the holidays and there are so many tasty treats out there to consume.

By consuming protein and fat based meals during the day with plenty of non-starchy vegetables you'll enable your body to handle a little bit more or those tasty treats later on in the day.

Plus with the added weight training that you're doing, you'll be able to partition some of those carbohydrates inside the muscle cells for usage in your training.

Let's keep the gains coming on strong this holiday season.
